If you are like most product managers you spend just about every day trying to figure out just exactly what a product manager does. There are a lot of ways to go about doing this: if your company has other product managers then you can watch and learn from them, if the company has a product development process then you can use that to find out what you are supposed to be doing, or you can go out and buy a book or attend a training class somewhere.
I’ve finally had enough time to sit down and take everything that I’ve learned over my career and document it. What I’ve done is to create an end-to-end product management system that I call STOMP. I believe that STOMP contains everything that you need to do as a product manager.
I’d like to introduce you to the STOMP system. That’s why I’m going to be hosting a free, that’s right it’s free, webinar on Wednesday, August 14th at 9pm. Now I realize that everyone lives in different time zones so I’m going to be offering this webinar three times: at 9pm Hong Kong time, 9pm London time, and at 9pm New York time. You can sign up for the time that is most convenient for you.
The webinar is going to last for about an hour and I’ve got an example product all lined up for you. I’m going to take this product through the entire STOMP system and show you how it all works. With a little luck you’ll recognize a number of the steps in the STOMP system. However, they may be in a different place than you are used to or there may be steps that you’re not doing today with your product.
